Thanks for visiting!

A concerned and caring Simon’s Town resident send me these photos with his comments. As a real estate agent I deliberated if I should publish these concerns. And I had to ask the questions: How do I create goodwill while at the same time live with things I don’t like? Should I publish them and live with the consequences?

Friend, this is me. This blog is read by many in Simon’s Town and I will use it to further a cause. A cause that may help to keep Simon’s Town the place we want while I agree to and promote growth because it’s inevitable.

Now for the issues by a concerned Simon’s Town friend:

Who Is Responsible?

The three projects in ST. All are dangerous in some way.

Who is responsible?

digginginsimonstown6 No Warning! This is blatantly ignoring the Health & Safety Act. It is 25m from a Main Road pavement with NO SIGNAGE. The stone retaining wall is very dangerous as the winter rains approach! A team of workmen have been working below during the past two weeks with the Council’s knowledge.

Council’s cost must be escalating rapidly while no work is undertaken.seaforthbeach

This Council project’s costs are escalating every 6 months. The whole of Seaforth Beach is going to………

*Women Buy Houses and Men Figure Out How To Pay for Them*

Friday, March 28th, 2008

Ok I know this is a loaded statement and luckily I did not say it. I am only using it because it’s loaded and it can get the debate started ;-)

I just read an interesting article by a real estate blogger who lost a $2 million deal because the wife did not like the idea of dealing with a male agent.

By The Way: How blessed are we in South Africa that we have slightly different discrimination issues. Issues that take our attention away from discrimination against men ;-)

You can read the funny but true story here: Can My Real Estate Blog Help Me Talk Like a Woman?

Let me continue………

The disappointed male agent confronted the husband:

He went on to say that his wife felt that she could not work well with a male agent. In their past real estate transactions, she liked dealing with women.

If the above and the following comment on the article, by Marty Van Diest quoting her biased husband, carries any truth then I will use She instead of He and women instead of men on this bog…..because my bank manager depends on my ability to talk to the one who buys the home.

Women Buy Houses and Men Figure Out How To Pay for Them. Marty van Diest.

My Simple Conclusion:

This story is interesting.

May you always do what’s good for you.
