What a pleasure to see how the Navy Band integrated the new with the old. They even played Sarie Marais and performed the old boer dance.During the proceedings R10 400 was collected for  Red Hill residents where 100 homes were lost in the resent fires.

How many people were there? I’m not sure, all I know is that it was a festive crowd. All seated on the lawn under the trees enjoying the music, the friendship and the picnic. This is the way to  spend a Sunday afternoon.

The following video shows (Warrant Officer) Willie van Zyl playing the whistle, he is classed as a totally awesome world class sax player. The conductor is Commander Mike Oldham. Listen to the great music by the Simon’s Town Navy Band playing Mango Groove – Special Star.

It’s great to have you back. Thanks.
