I have spoken to so many Simon’s Town people and they all love Simon’s Town with a passion. The excitement is contagious. The energy is there to focus on what can be done to solve problems and make it even better.

I am sure you know who said, “My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man”. Let’s take J.F.K’s words and make it our Simon’s Town motto and together see where we can help.
I am an optimist and believe that together we can make it better. What about you? Tell me why you think SimonsTown is such a great place and if you feel that SimonsTown is a great place but some issues need attention then please share them.

SimonsTown has the spectacular view, the naval history, the historical buildings and unfortunately the neglect of these, the whales and the penguins, Just Nuisance and the Chacma baboons, even if we don’t always like them they attract attention. We have our own mountain and the sea, we have lots of things to do in and around SimonsTown and then we have valuations and height restrictions.

How Do You Care For Your Second Home When You Are From Out Of Town? Ask The Local Eye To Take Care.
Have been to STown on numerous occations as a visitor. Think it is a fun holiday destinations but not to stay permannetly.`Is it not more for retired people? What activities have you got for your thirtysomethings? e.g Gym, shopping, clubs etc!!!

It depends on what you want. If you want the lights and the vibe then stay in Cape Town. If you want to be close to the vibe but you want to choose when you want it then Simonstown is ideal.
You are close to nature without being isolated and you can make it what you want to make of it. Your post reminds me…
Some time ago I read a story about an Indian village and it is applicable to your post on Simonstown.
A person was looking to move to a new village and decided to approach the village chief. He asked the chief if this his village us a great village? And the village chief said, “the village you are from, tell me more”.
The visitor said, “I am from a village where the people are bad, they all have affairs and that’s why I want to move”. The village chief said, “Then you should not move here because the people here are the same.”
A few months later another visitor approached the same village chief with the same request. When the village chief asked him what the people were like at his village he said, “They are beautiful and loving people.”
This time the village chief said, “This is what you’ll find when you move to this village.”
Simonstown is a village for all people who are from other beautiful places where there were lots of loving people. If you are one of the lucky ones you’ll find what you “see” in Simonstown.
